Job Description

The Sanford School Department is seeking an experienced and dedicated Elementary Special Education Teacher to fill a long-term substitute position. This role will support students in a resource room setting, focusing on literacy, math, and executive functioning skills. As a direct teaching and case management position, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising one Educational Technician.

Instruction will take place in both special education and general education settings. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the LindaMood Bell curriculums, particularly Lips, Seeing Stars, Visualization & Verbalization, and Number Worlds. Experience in writing IEPs and collecting data is also essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach literacy, math, and executive functioning skills to students in a resource room setting.
  • Supervise one Educational Technician.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Maintain accurate records and collect relevant data to inform instruction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a resource room setting.
  • Knowledge of the LindaMood Bell curriculums and experience with IEP development and data collection.
