Job Description

As a Commercial Lending Policy Strategist at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, you will play a pivotal role in driving commercial lending growth and further extending the CommBank Health brand within the community.

Our team manages Whitecoat, Australia's leading health directory and digital payments provider, and is responsible for designing and implementing strategy, policy, and banker capability programs to ensure the Bank delivers on its objective of becoming the leading provider of financial services solutions to the Australian healthcare industry.

Estimated Salary: AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 per annumYour Responsibilities
  1. Design and implement effective lending policies and processes to drive commercial lending growth.
  2. Draft and review policies and related documents to improve decision-making, simplify processes, and reduce risk outcomes.
  3. Establish and manage relationships with lending policy stakeholders to achieve governance and policy outcomes.
  4. Conduct lending policy-related analysis and research to drive improvement and adoption of best practices in governance and policy life-cycle management.
  5. Develop strong partnerships with frontline Health teams to ensure best practice lending deal structuring, key industry fundamentals, portfolio management, and customer engagement.
  6. Develop market-leading lending strategies as the business focus evolves into new areas of lending specialization.
  7. Build upon a strong partnership with Credit Risk teams, including a deep understanding of the credit process and regular reporting requirements for portfolio monitoring purposes and contribution to risk initiatives.
Your Skills and Experience
  1. In-depth experience of commercial lending credit applications.
  2. Effective communication and negotiating skills with a highly developed customer service focus.
  3. Ability to work and deliver in a high-pressure and changing environment.
  4. Strong sense of time management, urgency, and a focus on outcomes.
  5. Excellent analytical, planning, organizing, evaluation, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Capable of sourcing relevant information from a large network of contacts.
  7. Experience within financial services, risk management, credit risk, and healthcare is highly regarded.
  8. Excellent presentation skills.
