Criminal Lawyer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Criminal Lawyer to join our reputable and well-established legal practice, Collaw. As a Criminal Law Specialist, you will have the opportunity to develop a broad range of skills in criminal law with exceptional mentoring, guidance, and support.

• Appear as an advocate in various courts, including the Magistrates' Court and the criminal and family divisions of the Children's Court.
• Independent management of files, including conduct of appointments, telephone conferences, video-link appearances, and interviews.
• Engage with clients, stakeholders, and other members of the profession, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to communicate effectively.
• Work alongside administrative support staff to manage workload, client communication, and calendar commitments.

• Admitted as a legal practitioner in Victoria.
• Holder of a driver's licence.
• Capacity to manage a criminal law case load and provide in-court advocacy (including remotely).
• Knowledge of the law and court procedures with a focus on criminal and children's law jurisdictions.
• Sound interpersonal skills and the capacity to communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
• The ability to work collaboratively with others and to foster a co-operative and supportive team environment.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
