Rural Medical Education Lead

This is a unique chance to lead the academic implementation of medical programs and regional training activities within a specific medical pathway. As part of a collaborative partnership, you will contribute to the development of professional identity, clinical knowledge, and skills for students and junior doctors. Your expertise will be essential in fostering close working relationships with health services and universities to promote rural medical careers.
The position involves teaching, research, and supervision responsibilities, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to build research capacity and facilitate quality clinical teaching. Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching: Contribute to face-to-face clinical teaching, relevant to your expertise, to support student development.
- Research: Maintain personal academic standing by pursuing research and scholarship, contributing to collaborative projects between academics, clinicians, and partners.
- Supervision and Researcher Development: Foster others in responsible research conduct.
- Citizenship and Service: Provide leadership in implementing and overseeing a medical pathway from student recruitment to fellowship training, facilitating close working relationships with health services and universities.
About You
- Medical qualification and eligibility for registration as a medical practitioner in Australia.
- Masters or PhD, or equivalent experience, preferably in medical education or leadership.
- Expert knowledge and experience in clinical medicine, including evidence of current education best practice.
- Evidence of senior contribution to quality clinical teaching, research, or scholarship of teaching and learning.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and manage disparate interests in complex environments.
