Simonds Homes - Production Draftsperson

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Production Draftsperson to join our team at Simonds Homes, one of Australia's leading ASX listed residential builders.

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-going position based at our Loganholme office. As a Production Draftsperson, you will be responsible for preparing and updating drawings as per client requests, ensuring they are completed in a timely manner. Key accountabilities include:

  • Design Compliance: Prepare site dwellings that comply with developer guidelines, local council, and energy rating requirements.
  • Bench Level Design: Ensure design bench levels meet site works requirements.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with professional consultants, planning authorities, and key suppliers.
  • Tender and Contact Drawings: Draft tender and contact drawings for appointments.
  • Production Enquiries: Assist with production enquiries.
  • Quality Check: Check files prior to issuing final drawings.
  • Project Management: Assist with projects relevant to department plans and agreed strategy.
  • Scheduling: Undertake tasks as assigned on scheduling systems and ensure they are completed accurately and within agreed timeframes.
  • Team Leadership: Liaise with the Drafting Team Leader regarding any drafting-related concerns.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work in cooperation with other teams to assist in pre-site and production queries, when required.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in reading and producing working drawings, a tertiary/TAFE drafting qualification (or equivalent experience), and a background in residential construction. A thorough working knowledge of Revit software and the National Construction Code (NCC) is required, along with good analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Estimated salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
