About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Specialist to join our team at Emergent Group. As a key member of our design and engineering team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality technical drawings, models, and designs for a variety of mechanical and structural projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare 3D models, technical drawings, plans, and designs for mechanical and structural work, including detail and assembly drawings, bills of material, general arrangement, sub-assembly, and component drawings.
  • Ensure all drawings and models are to scale and comply with approved design codes, standards, and scope of works.
  • Conduct site inspections of client sites alongside experienced design draftspeople and engineers.
  • Work with clients to develop conceptual design solutions to diverse problems.
  • Assist in the project costing, tender, and quote preparation.
Requirements
  • Drafting certificate or engineering diploma with more than 3 years of industrial experience.
  • Familiarity with modelling and drafting in the Autodesk environment (e.g., Inventor, AutoCAD & REVIT).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Current driver's license.
Desirable Skills
  • Construction or Mechanical trade background.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and REVIT.
