Cybersecurity Consultant Role

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies, ensuring the effective planning and delivery of Managed Security Services.
- Analyze customer environments to identify areas for improvement, providing expert advice on security best practices and compliance.
- Design and deliver technical information materials and workshops on information security trends, threats, and best practices.
- Provide regular reporting on cybersecurity incidents, server patching, and security enhancements, ensuring operational management oversight.
- Participate in incident response and provide expert cybersecurity advice to clients.
- Assist clients in responding to internal and external audit assessments.
- Manage day-to-day vulnerability and ticket management, as well as customer enquiries and escalations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an IT Security Management role, with a focus on operational, policy, or risk and assurance aspects.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity strategies and frameworks, such as Essential Eight, ISM, and PSPF.
- Experience with application control, Tenable, and Trellix.
- Ability to develop standard security artefacts, such as SSP, SRMP, and IRP.
- Strong knowledge of information security topics and the ability to provide expert advice to information security steering committees and other agency committees.
- A genuine passion for IT Security and a commitment to maintaining an up-to-date security knowledge base.
- Strong technical background in networking, compute, cloud, and general IT.
