About the Role
The purpose of this very rewarding role is to provide counseling, support and specialist group programs to individuals, couples, children and families through collaborative practices.
This includes working with people from diverse backgrounds, including those experiencing domestic violence.
You will be skilled in trauma-informed practice and have experience in providing counseling in an agency setting.
You will also have experience in working with families and individuals, and have skills in individual and group settings.
As a mental health professional, you will work closely with other team members to create trusted places where people can gather and build strong relationships.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant human services field, such as psychology or counseling;
- Clinical membership of a relevant professional body;
- Demonstrated experience and skills in counseling and group work, including child-focused counseling and play therapy;
- Experience in providing counseling in an agency setting;
- Demonstrated experience and skills in individual and group settings with people experiencing and/or using domestic family violence;
- Experience in trauma-informed practice;
- Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of BaptistCare's Christian identity and values;
- An ability and willingness to promote the ethos, purpose and values of BaptistCare.
