As the Chief Technologist, you will oversee a portfolio of future-focused technology development projects and lead the interface with the global astronomy community on the development of future instrumentation for radio astronomy.

About the ATNF

The ATNF is a world-class radio astronomy facility, operating several radio astronomy observatories and data archives. Our technology development program is internationally recognised for its innovative radio astronomy instrumentation. We are part of CSIRO's Space & Astronomy research unit, aiming to enable humanity to understand our Earth and Universe.

About You

We are looking for a strategic, innovative, and collaborative leader with a PhD in radio science and technology. You should have a track record in identifying and adopting nascent technologies to advance radio science and technology. Experience in applying strategic thinking to set the direction of an R&D organisation is essential. You should also have a demonstrated record of adherence to professional ethics and conduct, including professional and respectful workplace behaviour and a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion.

What We Offer

We offer an attractive salary package, 15.4% superannuation, and the opportunity to work in a world-class radio astronomy facility. You will have the chance to lead a team of experts and contribute to the global effort to understand our Universe. Consideration may be given to Parkes, Narrabri, or Geraldton as preferred locations.
