Senior Academic Leader in Information Technology and Systems

The position of senior academic leader is a crucial role in the delivery of information technology and systems courses. The appointee will be responsible for leading the academic development, delivery, and quality assurance of these courses.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior academic leader to provide disciplinary leadership in information technology and systems. The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of ITS courses across all modes—online and face-to-face.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the academic development, delivery, and quality assurance of VIT's ITS courses.
  • Play a key part in academic governance and external compliance activities.
  • Mentor academic staff, fostering contemporary teaching practices, and embedding scholarly and pedagogical development into curriculum delivery.
  • Engage with industry, alumni, and professional networks to enhance WIL opportunities, graduate outcomes, and the relevance of course offerings.
Ideal Profile

We seek a candidate with:

  • Leadership and management experience in a higher education environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development and achievement of the organisation's strategic goals.
  • Teaching skills and enthusiasm for educating international students.
  • AQF 10 (doctoral) qualification, or equivalent blend of qualification and experience.
