Job Overview

The role of Senior Ventilation Engineer is pivotal in designing, optimizing and monitoring underground ventilation systems for a significant infrastructure and renewable energy project in regional New South Wales.

This position requires an individual with hands-on experience in tunnelling or mining projects, as well as expertise in ventilation system design, optimization and troubleshooting. Additionally, the candidate should have strong knowledge of Australian Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) compliance.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Design and optimize underground ventilation systems to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Conduct airflow simulations and thermal load assessments to identify potential issues.
  • Lead and mentor small engineering teams to achieve project deliverables and quality standards.
  • Represent ventilation engineering interests in meetings with stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • 8-12 years of experience as a Ventilation Engineer, with at least 3-4 years in Australia; hands-on involvement in tunnelling or mining projects (mandatory).
  • Proven skills in design, optimization and troubleshooting of ventilation systems, including airflow simulations and thermal load evaluations.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities to guide small engineering teams and coordinate with multidisciplinary groups.
  • Proficiency with ventilation simulation and thermal analysis software, as well as ability to prepare technical reports.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mining or Environmental Engineering, fluent English (C1), valid Australian driver's licence and unrestricted work rights in Australia.
