Industry Employment Mentor

We are seeking a skilled Industry Employment Mentor to join our team at the Australian Industry Trade College's Toowoomba campus. This is a full-time permanent, term time position that offers a competitive salary and a range of benefits.
The Industry Employment Mentor will play a critical role in supporting young people on their journey to finding employment. They will work closely with students to help them develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the industry, and will also provide guidance and support to teachers and industry consultants as needed.
Key responsibilities of the Industry Employment Mentor include:
- Coaching and mentoring students to promote high expectations in terms of behaviours, attitudes, and performance
- Reviewing progress against academic and personal targets, and promoting employability metrics through guidance and mentoring
- Acting as the first point of contact for parents and students with regard to ongoing behavioural, attendance, or employability skills matters
- Developing materials, including interactive online resources and planning documentation
The Australian Industry Trade College is committed to providing a safe and supportive work environment. This position requires the successful applicant to hold a current valid Working with Children Blue Card, and to be comfortable working with a diverse range of stakeholders.
The estimated salary for this position is AU$65,000 - AU$85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. A current driver's license is also required.

Job Description and Selection Criteria
The Industry Employment Mentor will be responsible for:
- Coaching and mentoring students to achieve high levels of engagement and motivation
- Developing and implementing individualised learning plans to support students' academic and personal goals
- Providing guidance and support to teachers and industry consultants to ensure effective delivery of the industry school program
- Collaborating with other staff members to develop and implement strategies to support student engagement and motivation
The successful applicant will possess:
- A qualification in education, coaching, or a related field
- Experience working directly with young people in a similar environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A current valid Working with Children Blue Card
- A current driver's license
