Logistics Operations Manager

The Logistics Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in the success of our organization, responsible for delivering safe, timely, and cost-efficient transportation of ferrous and non-ferrous materials to meet customer expectations.
This critical position oversees the development and execution of transport planning and scheduling processes in conjunction with Trading and Operational teams, ensuring seamless coordination across departments.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive transport planning strategies to optimize logistics operations
- Manage and lead a high-performing Transport Team, fostering collaboration and innovation within the group
- Analyze and optimize capacity and operational planning processes to minimize costs and maximize efficiency
- Monitor and enhance carrier and fleet performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective solutions
- Implement and govern transport systems to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Proactively identify and implement innovative transport initiatives to improve timeliness, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
- At least 5 years of experience in logistics management, preferably in a transport planning environment
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams in complex, fast-paced environments
- Expertise in fleet and carrier management, including allocation of vehicle types, capacity, specifications, load configuration, and load restraint
- Advanced stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills, with a strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated knowledge of SAP, Weighbridge, and Waste Edge systems is an advantage
- Proven problem-solving and process improvement capabilities, with a passion for driving outcomes and delivering results
