Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Maintenance Engineer to join our team at BEAR Scotland. As a key member of our North West Bridges Team, you will be responsible for the investigation, design, planning, procurement, and construction management of bridge maintenance works on our network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the investigation, design, and planning of bridge maintenance schemes
  • Prepare detailed designs and specifications for bridge maintenance works
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards and regulations
  • Prepare reports, investigations, feasibility studies, and assessments
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects
  • Procure and supervise maintenance works
  • Monitor and control project costs and schedules
  • Assist in the development of tender documents and pre-construction information
  • Work with commercial specialists to complete tender evaluations and assist with contract award
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures
  • Assist in the team's compliance with the CDM Regulations
  • Use the client's structures management systems and geographical inventory system to keep structure data and as-built records up to date
Requirements
  • Educated to degree level in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Experience in civil engineering design and bridge maintenance
  • Professional qualification and membership of an appropriate professional body or a clear path to membership
  • A full approved UK driving licence
