The successful candidate will conduct fabrication and welding duties on time, in full, and to standard, while striving for continuous improvement. The boilermaker/welder is responsible for maintaining a clean, tidy, and productive work environment.

Key Objectives and Responsibilities Include:

  2. Understand and accept assigned tasks.
  3. Ownership and respect for tools and equipment.
  4. Completing assigned tasks in full and to the required standard.
  5. During periods of reduced trade-specific works, assist in other trade-based sectors of the business as reasonably directed.
  6. Completing works within the required time frames and, if unachievable, inform Supervisor immediately.
  7. Understanding, accepting, and delivering quality standards.
  8. Improving quality standards.
  9. Understand, implement, and comply with all Austal Policies and Procedures relating to HSEQ.
  10. Hold self and workmates accountable to HSEQ standards.
  11. Promoting a 'safety first' culture.

  13. Ensuring good housekeeping is practiced.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:

  1. Hold a Construction safety induction (white card).
  2. Trade qualification - Welder / Fabricator, Boat builder or Boilermaker.
  3. Previous experience in Boilermaking/Welding in heavy industry.
  4. Able to attain welding qualifications to Survey Body level standard.
  5. Capable of performing work in a safe and acceptable manner.
  6. Demonstrate adequate theoretical knowledge.
  7. Ability to use standard tools and equipment related to the trade.
  8. Possess good time management skills and ability to meet set targets.
