We are seeking an experienced Academic Support Specialist to play a pivotal role in fostering academic success through effective resource management and tailored learning development. As a key member of our team, you will curate and manage a comprehensive collection of resources, ensuring seamless access for students.

Your dual role will encompass both resource management and learning development. You will work closely with students to identify their specific needs and provide personalized support aligned with discipline curriculum objectives. Through consultations, workshops, and resource provision, you will empower learners to enhance their skills, research effectively, and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cultivate an online information resource environment and provide support to students in a Learning Hub.
  • Manage a diverse range of print, IT, and electronic multimedia resources.
  • Deliver consultations, workshops, and resource provision to support learner success.
  • Collaborate with staff to assess and acquire new learning resources based on user needs and emerging trends.
  • Monitor attendance and identify at-risk students through collaboration with Course Coordinators.
Qualifications and Skills

We seek an individual with:

  • Experience in language and learning support, including assessing learning needs and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and facilitating study skills workshops.
  • Knowledge of information literacy principles and ability to instruct others in research techniques and citation practices.
  • Familiarity with online learning resource management systems and digital cataloguing.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
