About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Arcare Aged Care as a Catering Assistant, where you will play a vital role in supporting the overall well-being of our residents by contributing to their dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meal Preparation: Assist in the preparation of meals, which may include chopping vegetables, assembling salads, portioning food, and preparing simple dishes under the supervision of the Cook or Head Chef.
  • Serving Meals: Help in serving meals to residents during meal times, ensuring that each resident receives the appropriate meal according to their dietary requirements.
  • Dining Room Setup: Set up the dining areas before meal times, ensuring tables are clean, and all necessary items like cutlery, plates, and glasses are in place.
  • Dishwashing and Cleaning: Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, and maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area. They may also help with cleaning kitchen surfaces and storage areas.
  • Resident Interaction: Interact with residents in a friendly and courteous manner during meal times, addressing their needs and requests as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Food Handlers Certificate: A valid Food Handlers Certificate is required for this role.
  • Adaptability and Teamwork: The successful candidate will be adaptable, passionate, and willing to learn, with excellent collaborative and teamwork skills.
  • Communication Skills: Friendly and effective communication abilities are essential for this role.
