Job Summary

The NSW Department of Customer Service is seeking a highly skilled Business Information Security Officer to join their team. This ongoing opportunity offers hybrid/flexible working options and is based in Sydney CBD.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cyber Security Leadership: Develop strategic relationships with stakeholders and act as the single point of contact for cyber security within business areas.
  • Risk Management: Enable effective delivery of cyber security services and manage risks aligned with the Business and Cluster CISO strategies.
  • Expert Advice: Provide expert security advice and leadership to agencies as the CISO Delegate, collaborating with divisional digital and business leaders to identify and manage cyber risk.
  • Tailored Strategies: Develop tailored cyber strategies and approaches for lines of business aligned with the DCS cyber strategy.
  • Security Delivery: Lead the development of security delivery plans for agencies and clients; oversee the delivery of security services to execute strategy and initiatives.
About You
  • You will have experience engaging with technology and business leaders to discuss cyber security in business terms.
  • You should be able to develop or contribute to cyber strategies to meet business needs, address threats, and align with existing business strategies.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in cyber security risk, governance, architecture, compliance, or related domains is required.
  • Experience acting as a point of escalation for cyber security incidents is desirable.
  • You must have excellent engagement and presentation skills.
  • You will be a collaborative team player who can work with technical and non-technical teams to ensure risk, audit, and compliance activities are designed and operated effectively.
  • Experience with cyber security standards and frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, ISM, or the NSW CSP is beneficial.
  • A commitment to a growth and learning mindset is essential.
