About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Quality Engineer to join our Engineering Platform team at Commonwealth Bank. As a key member of our squad, you will play a critical role in transforming our group capability to Automated Testing and supporting the bank's Engineering Platform integration with CI/CD tools, Test Automation Frameworks, and escalation points for a subset of those services or capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of automated testing strategies and frameworks to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize testing needs, and develop effective testing plans.
  • Design and implement automated testing tools and scripts to improve testing efficiency and reduce manual testing efforts.
  • Develop and maintain test automation frameworks to ensure consistency and reliability in testing.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and quality assurance teams to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our testing practices and tools.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in software development and testing, with a strong understanding of automated testing tools and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong technical skills, with experience in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with containerization and public cloud engineering, preferably AWS.
