Teaching and Research Opportunity

Curtin University is seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic to join our School of Population Health as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Psychology. This is a full-time, continuing position that offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of our undergraduate psychology program and advance your research career.

About the Role

We are looking for an academic with a strong background in psychology and a passion for teaching and research. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate psychology courses, supervising research students, and contributing to the development of our research program in psychology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate psychology courses, including introductory psychology and perception
  • Supervise research students and contribute to the development of our research program in psychology
  • Contribute to the development of our undergraduate psychology program, including curriculum design and implementation
  • Engage in research and scholarly activities, including publishing in good quality academic journals and contributing to competitive grant applications
Selection Criteria

The successful candidate will have:

  • An APAC accredited (or equivalent) undergraduate degree in psychology
  • A doctoral qualification in psychology
  • An excellent track record of research outputs in good quality academic journals/outlets and the ability to contribute to competitive grant applications, relative to experience and level of appointment
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching psychology or related topics in a university setting, both in-person and online
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise 4th year psychology students
  • Demonstrated record of PhD supervision
  • Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross-cultural sensitivity
