Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced culinary professional to fill the position of Executive Chef in a fast-paced, 96-bed aged care facility. You will play a vital role in preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that cater to the dietary needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement menus in accordance with aged care dietary requirements, resident preferences, and operational standards.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment is maintained at all times, adhering to food safety regulations.
  • Accurately prepare special diets (texture-modified, diabetic, allergen-free) in line with care plans and menu requirements.
  • Collaborate with dietitians and facility staff to ensure meal quality and compliance with care plans.
  • Supervise and mentor kitchen assistants or food service staff as required.
  • Participate in stock ordering, rotation, and waste management processes.
Requirements:
  • Certificate 3 Commercial Cookery qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience in commercial cooking, preferably in aged care facilities.
  • A compassionate, flexible approach to effective patient care and management.
  • The ability to foster friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
