We are seeking expressions of interest from skilled Field Ecologists looking to progress their career in ecological consulting. As a key player in the biodiversity sector, our NSW ecology team is expanding its portfolio of projects in renewable energy and strategic conservation.

This exciting opportunity allows early-career ecologists to join a supportive and experienced team with secure workflow and diverse project variety. Our ideal candidate has some prior experience in conducting ecological field work and is motivated to develop technical skills in vegetation and flora identification, as well as targeted species surveys.

While this role involves extensive fieldwork, we offer opportunities for professional growth and development, including reporting, project management, and technical expertise. You will work alongside highly experienced professionals who can support your career progression.

About you:

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Field Ecologists who meet the following criteria:

  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in environmental science, botany, zoology, or a related field.
  • A strong desire to work flexible hours and travel for ecological fieldwork, potentially for extended periods in rural or remote regions.
  • Experience in undertaking ecological surveys and a demonstrated passion for flora and fauna.
  • Prior knowledge of NSW Plant Community Types is highly regarded.
  • Experience in developing positive relationships with stakeholders, including peers, clients, and government agencies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and autonomously.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Experience with GIS and electronic data capture.
  • Understanding of WHS matters.
