We are seeking a highly qualified Sr. Principal Digital Hardware Engineer to join our program hardware team located in Alice Springs, AU. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in digital communication systems maintenance and be familiar with structured configuration control environments.

This role requires a two-year commitment and the ability to pass a physical and psychological exam. Employees may enjoy a comprehensive overseas compensation package, including relocation assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain digital communication systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair system, subsystem, unit, and board-level issues
  • Design and implement procedures for alignment and testing
  • Respond to system anomalies and provide technical support
  • Communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technical, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline plus 8 years of engineering/technical experience, or Master's Degree in STEM field plus 6 years of experience, or PhD in STEM field plus 4 years of experience
  • Knowledge of basic communication theory, digital modulation/demodulation techniques, and AC & DC electronic theory
  • Proven leadership experience on projects and teams
  • Ability to obtain DoD Top Secret clearance, SCI access, and complete a counterintelligence polygraph examination prior to start date

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with SSBI/Counter Intelligence polygraph within the last 4 years
  • Familiarity with BPSK & QPSK waveforms and methods for testing and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of various communication protocols such as RS232, RS422, GPIB, etc.

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on location and experience. Northrop Grumman offers a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays, and paid time off.
