Director of Prevocational Education and Training

We are seeking a dedicated professional to lead the development of education programs, advocate for trainee growth, and foster a culture of continuous learning within the Murrumbidgee Local Health District.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, negotiation, consultative and interpersonal skills, incorporating the ability to liaise and consult with all levels of the health industry, the community and various professional groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate structured education programs
  • Advocate for trainee development and oversee career progression
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including Junior Medical Officers, hospital executives, and the Health Education and Training Institute (HETI)

Requirements:

  • Eligible for full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Specialist with Fellowship of the relevant college
  • A current clinical appointment to practice at the hospital
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving the quality of education and training offered by the hospital
  • Demonstrated genuine interest in postgraduate medical education and an understanding of the importance of the continuum of medical education as a lifelong professional commitment
  • Evidence of a commitment to the mission of HETI and the ability to present and explain HETI's goals
