BaptistCare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Spiritual Care Professional to join our team. As a permanent full-time position based at Gosford, you will provide spiritual and emotional support to individuals and families in a hospital setting.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work for a top non-profit provider with a strong 80-year history of providing care. Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a high level of Christian spiritual maturity with a pastoral heart, along with active involvement in and recommendation from a local Christian Church.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide spiritual and emotional support to individuals and families in a hospital setting
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to design, deliver, and evaluate person-centered spiritual care initiatives
  • Maintain positive working relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Facilitate safe and welcoming spaces that promote a sense of community and belonging
  • Treat all customers with equity, respect, and dignity, respecting their diverse backgrounds and beliefs

Requirements:

  • Theological tertiary qualifications (in line with CCAC endorsement)
  • Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) 400 hours course or equivalent; or be prepared to undertake a CPE course or equivalent in the first year of accreditation (in line with CCAC endorsement)
  • Active involvement in and recommendation from a local Christian Church
  • Chaplaincy or pastoral care experience
  • Current 'Working with Children Check'
  • Willingness to undergo a police check

Competencies:

  • A personal commitment to growth in the Christian faith
  • Ability to recognize the spiritual and pastoral needs of customers and to design, deliver, and evaluate person-centered spiritual care initiatives
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to supervise, support, and train pastoral care volunteers

Salary and Benefits:

We offer an attractive salary range of $90,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to your salary, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including flexible work hours, a supportive team, training opportunities, and financial benefits, such as salary packaging and stability working for an industry-leading provider.
