Job Description

As an IT Security Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and data. Your primary responsibility will be to design and implement technical security controls to prevent cyber threats and protect against potential risks.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to assess and mitigate security vulnerabilities, develop and enforce security policies, and provide expert advice on security best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential security threats and develop mitigation strategies
  • Design and implement technical security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption technologies
  • Develop and maintain security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Provide training and awareness programs to employees on security best practices and phishing attacks
  • Analyze and respond to security incidents, working closely with incident response teams to contain and remediate threats

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks, including NIST CSF and CIS 18
  • Certification in auditing (CISA) or security controls and risk management (SANS GIAC)
  • Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems and threat intelligence platforms
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think critically and make sound judgments
