CNC Machinist Role Overview

Gilmour Space Technologies is a pioneering Australian rocket company pushing the boundaries of space exploration. We're seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our innovative team and contribute to the design and manufacture of rockets in-house.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture high-quality components for aerospace applications, ensuring precision and accuracy.
  • Carry out engineering requests to support the development and manufacture of jigs, fixtures, and specialized tooling, adhering to industry standards.
  • Ensure good manufacturing practice and provide ongoing maintenance and organization of toolroom equipment.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to incorporate manufacturing constraints into the design process.
  • Assess and recommend hardware and staff to enhance the company's precision manufacturing capability, aligning with business goals.
  • Support other manufacturing tasks as dictated by the needs of the business.

Mandatory Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Trade-qualified Toolmaker or Fitter & Turner Machinist.
  • 5 years' experience manufacturing precision components using lathes, mills, and general workshop equipment.
  • NV1 Security Clearance eligibility is preferred.
