Becoming an electrician through apprenticeship is a highly respected and rewarding pathway. Working closely with experienced professionals, the successful applicant will gain hands-on experience in residential electrical installations and maintenance of equipment, cabling and wiring, and diagnosing and repairing electrical malfunctions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Residential installation and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment
  • Cabling and wiring
  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical malfunctions

In addition to technical skills, the following personal qualities are essential for success:

  • Motivation and genuine interest in the industry
  • High level communication, customer service and organisational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and follow complex instructions
  • Positive attitude and self-motivation to learn on-the-job as an apprentice
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with hand tools

Essential criteria include:

  • Current drivers licence and reliable transport to get to and from work
  • White Card and Working with Vulnerable People (or ability to gain one)
  • Knowledge of safe working practices and WHS requirements

This apprenticeship offers:

  • Nationally recognised Certificate III in Electrotechnology (UEE30820) upon completion
  • Ongoing mentoring and employment support from a dedicated Field Officer
  • The opportunity to develop a lifelong career in the electrical trade

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, applicants must have a pre-vocational course in electrotechnology and undergo a pre-employment medical, including vision and drug & alcohol testing.

Suitable applicants will be contacted for an initial discussion regarding this apprenticeship, followed by aptitude testing or other documentation. A face-to-face interview with the host employer will also be conducted.

If selected, you will be signed up to your qualification, and a start date will be arranged.
