Job Summary:

This role involves handling property claims efficiently and effectively, ensuring a high-quality work product through prompt communication with customers and brokers. The primary goal is to resolve claims in a timely manner while maintaining professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of property claims, analyzing first reports to determine the nature of loss, coverage provided, and scope of damage.
  • Assess claims according to service level and quality requirements, determining coverage, reserving within timeframes, making payments, and responding to customer queries.
  • Communicate with brokers, claimants, and others via telephone and written correspondence as required.
  • Document all claim developments on the workstation file promptly and properly.
  • Participate in training sessions as needed to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Seek technical assistance for claims exceeding delegated authority.
  • Respond to inquiries and escalations from underwriters, brokers, and customers, working collaboratively with other departments as necessary.
  • Exercise good judgment in resolving claims by evaluating liability, damage, coverage, and applicable limits.
  • Negotiate compromise settlements where appropriate.
  • Participate in claims meetings with internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Effectively manage outside vendors' use, work product, and expenses.
  • Monitor performance and processes of service providers, recommending improvements and escalating breaches as necessary.
  • Assist with daily payment, audit, and administrative tasks as required.
  • Support Claims Department operations and adapt to changing business needs.
