Senior Electrical Engineer Leader

This is a challenging role that requires a strong background in electrical engineering and leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the engineering team in delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership on all large rotating equipment, rewinds, failures, upgrades, and root cause analysis.
  • Ensure timely delivery of large rotating plant overhauls and rewinds to meet client expectations.
  • Provide regular progress updates on all projects and critical repairs.
  • Ensure the highest level of engineering quality and consistency across various departments.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients on a technical level to ensure ongoing business.
  • Train and maximize employee performance through leadership and good performance management.
  • Drive a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
  • Regular reporting and communication of department objectives, achievements, and risk to senior management.
  • Manage all technical documents to ensure they are always up to date with the latest standards reports.
  • Develop, implement, and drive strategies to continually improve process, cost efficiency, and productive capability of High Voltage testing to customers.
  • Interpret and review technical data and drawings for High Voltage Coils and motor designs.
  • Interpret, draw, and specifications, and provide advice on rewind and overhaul methods and procedures to achieve performance requirements.
  • Devising, implementing, and assessing engineering strategies and plans.

Requirements:

  • Electrical trade qualification with a minimum 25 years' industry experience and with minimum 5 years in a Senior Management role.
  • Testing, fault finding, root cause of failure analysis, and reporting, on-site and in the workshop.
  • Financial management (costing, budgeting, forecasting, management of purchases).
  • Performance management and succession planning.
  • Staff management, training, development, and mentoring.
  • Hands-on experience on large rewind projects onsite and in the workshop.
  • Solid technical understanding of large rotating equipment.
  • HV testing, fault finding, analysis, and reporting on-site and in the workshop.
  • Verify winding data, approve design, specifications, and materials.
  • Rewind procedures to be updated to the latest technology and materials.
  • Vibration analysis Cert III with data interpretation and report writing.
  • Removal, installation, and commissioning of all large rotating equipment, including motors, generators, and turbines.
  • Proven experience in an executive leadership role within the motor repair industry.
  • Able to travel within Australia and South Pacific Rim to carry out onsite visits/repairs to complex motors and or generators when required.
