As a Senior Financial Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a set of clients and leading a team of 10+ staff. This is an ideal role for someone looking to advance from a supervisor or assistant manager position to a full-fledged management role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review the work of team members, particularly in strategic areas
  • Prepare business advisory reports, including cash flow projections
  • Mentor and train team accountants
  • Manage the team's workflow
  • Meet with new and existing clients
  • Lead initial meetings with new clients
  • Conduct strategic client meetings focused on business advisory and tax planning
  • Provide strategic tax planning and structuring advice
  • Oversee tax compliance and ensure accuracy

Required Skills and Experience:

  • MUST HAVE at least 5+ years of experience in a public practice firm
  • Proven experience in client communication and management
  • Expertise in preparing financial statements, tax returns, and BAS end-to-end at a high standard
  • A strong to advanced technical knowledge, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to clients (e.g., Div7a, GST, Tax)
  • Ability to train and review the work of junior staff members, including tax returns, BAS, tax planning, and advisory reports
  • Strong to advanced skills in business advisory, advice, and tax planning, including structuring, tax planning, and CGT
  • Proficiency with Xero and Quick Books software
