Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer to join our Supplier Quality Engineering team at ResMed Inc. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our products and services by working closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Resolve Supplier Quality Issues
    • Work with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve supplier quality issues in a timely and systematic fashion.
  • Identify and Address Supplier-Related Problems
    • Identify supplier-related problems and opportunities for improvement.
    • Perform root-cause investigation and collaborate with suppliers and Supplier Development Engineer to improve supplier performance.
  • Enhance Supplier Products and Processes
    • Work with suppliers to refine and enhance products and processes by applying continuous improvement and key lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques.
  • Educate and Support Suppliers
    • Educate and support suppliers in the use of various quality prevention tools to ensure defect-free products.
  • Communicate Effectively
    • Timely communication of issues that affect supplier quality and delivery capability to relevant stakeholders across the organization.
  • Support Supplier Audit Activities
    • Support supplier audit activities and assess process capability as required.
  • Drive Process Change Control
    • Drive and manage supplier-initiated process change control.
  • Ensure Quality System Knowledge
    • Ensure thorough knowledge of ResMed's Quality system to work within established policies and procedures, compliance with GMP, regulatory requirements, and other business systems.
  • Develop Engineering Skills
    • Develop Engineering skills to lead problem-solving activities for technologies used in ResMed's products.
  • Provide Technical Leadership
    • Provide technical leadership, support, and guidance to Supplier Quality Engineers.
  • Develop Industry Knowledge
    • Continually develop industry knowledge to assist in the development and sharing of best practices.
  • Maintain Lessons Learned
    • Maintain lessons learned from various investigations to assist in the development and sharing of best practices.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Degree qualification in Engineering or Science with a minimum of 2 to 5+ years' experience.
  • Manufacturing Process Knowledge
    • Supplier manufacturing process knowledge and understanding of various manufacturing processes.
  • Problem-Solving Methods and Tools
    • Problem-solving methods and tools, as well as quality process knowledge, including statistics (A3, 8D, KT Problem Solving, DMAIC, Lean Six Sigma, and SPC, etc.).
  • Strong Negotiation and Communication Skills
    • Strong negotiation skills, communication skills, and business acumen.
  • Independent and Results-Driven
    • Independent and results-driven.
  • Project Management
    • Able to manage multiple projects/tasks at once, while prioritizing, leading, and managing them to achieve optimal quality, delivery, and cost outcomes.
  • ResMed Product Knowledge
    • Detailed ResMed product design, function, assembly, and test knowledge.
  • Travel Requirements
    • This position will require the ability to travel for up to 25% of the time.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
