Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Operations Specialist to oversee and coordinate the efficient movement of product from mine site to ship. This includes road haulage, rail haulage, and port operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring train running does not deviate from schedules and implementing recovery plans if necessary. They will also ensure that road haulage operations do not bottleneck by monitoring real-time truck positions, loading, and tipping operations, as well as external influences such as roadworks.

Additionally, they will monitor delivery of product to port against inload plans to achieve shipment grades. The Logistics Operations Specialist will identify improvement opportunities and develop actions to implement improvement initiatives.

Effective communication flow between internal and external stakeholders is crucial for planning and executing operations efficiently. The role requires reporting of safety and operational performance, management of incidents according to MRL Incident Management Procedures, and investigating incidents to provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.

Requirements:

  • ICAM training
  • Experience working in or understanding of live run logistics in a road or rail transport and port operations environment within a mining supply chain.
  • Experience completing investigations
  • Proficiency in the standard MS Office suite of products
  • Exposure to dry bulk haulage in a mining, rail transport, or port environment (desirable)
  • Experience in managing or operating trains (desirable)
