Acute Respiratory Physiotherapy Specialist Job Opportunity

Job Description:

The role of the Respiratory Lead Physiotherapist is to provide specialist respiratory assessment and treatment for in-patient adult acute wards.

This involves working closely with the wider acute therapy team and Critical Care Specialist therapists.

The post holder will lead on supervision and education of junior respiratory physiotherapists, as well as responsibility for ensuring the operational delivery of the 7 day emergency respiratory on-call physiotherapy service.

As a key member of the therapy team, you will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective care pathways.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert, complex therapeutic advice to patients and carers
  • Make recommendations to the Medical and Surgical Therapy Team regarding therapy needs of patients
  • Ensure effective internal and external communication with patients, carers, and all other Health and Social Care Professionals
Person Specification:Qualifications:
  • Degree in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC Registration
  • MSc level or equivalent post-graduate respiratory qualification
  • Leadership qualification of equivalent experience
  • Clinical Educator Qualification
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience in acute and respiratory specialities
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continual professional development
  • Experience of leading audit
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to initiate evidence based practice within clinical area
  • Excellent teaching and presentation skills
