Job Description:

Talesca is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Business Manager to join our team. This is a critical role that requires strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing, including data input, validation, and finalization of payments. They will also ensure compliance with legislative requirements, particularly payroll tax and tax withholding and super guarantee contributions.

In addition, the Payroll Business Manager will accurately manage the maintenance of employee records related to payroll, including personal details, tax information, salary packaging, and other relevant data. They will also file employee lifecycle documentation and update internal systems accordingly.

This is a challenging role that requires a high level of organization, analytical skills, and attention to detail. The successful candidate will have experience working with different EBAs (site workers, shift workers, etc.) and have a strong understanding of market benchmarking and remuneration practices.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll software for data analysis and reporting. They will also possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to explain complex payroll issues clearly and effectively.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including data input, validation, and finalization of payments
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, particularly payroll tax and tax withholding and super guarantee contributions
  • Accurately manage the maintenance of employee records related to payroll
  • File employee lifecycle documentation and update internal systems accordingly
  • Conduct regular market research and benchmarking studies to ensure the company's remuneration offerings remain competitive
  • Lead the annual salary review process, including budget management, benchmarking analysis, and collaboration with senior leadership to ensure equitable adjustments across teams
  • Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and guidelines

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll software for data analysis and reporting
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working with different EBAs (site workers, shift workers, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of market benchmarking and remuneration practices
