About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and ambitious Legal Counsel to join our Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Legal Team in Melbourne. As a key member of our team, you will provide critical legal advice on high-stakes transactions, draft and negotiate key contracts, and tackle complex disputes head-on.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating AECOM's project contracts, including consultancy services agreements, alliance, tender services, SaaS, PM and EPCM agreements, and related ancillary documentation.
  • Providing ad-hoc legal advice regarding AECOM's project pursuits, including bid qualification and departure statements, probity and procurement, deal structuring, conflicts management, and other collateral matters.
  • Assisting with the preparation of internal project approvals and engaging with internal clients during the delivery phase of projects.
  • Managing claims and disputes, including judicial and administrative litigation, and drafting or settling internal and external communications with law firms, clients, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification in law and admission to practice in Victoria.
  • An understanding of infrastructure projects and government procurement processes.
  • Previous experience in a top-tier law firm and/or in-house experience in a multinational consultant or contractor will be viewed favourably.
  • Demonstrated track record of adding value to a diverse and dynamic business.
