Job Description

This role involves providing high-quality care as a vital member of the multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will work in a position of advocacy for the patient and their family, ensuring that their needs are met with compassion and professionalism.

About The Role

The unit is a 20-bed in-patient ward providing specialist in-patient Geriatric services to Albury Wodonga and surrounding areas. It consists of a multidisciplinary team headed by a Geriatrician, nursing staff, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, social work, and pastoral care worker.

About You / Qualifications
  • Essential requirements include current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse. Must have current immunisation of diseases as listed in NSW Health Policy Directive. This is a Category A Risk position.
  • A minimum of 2 years post-graduate nursing experience is desirable but not essential. Focused on patient-centred nursing, the successful candidate will demonstrate strong time management and organisational skills, as well as computer literacy.
Additional Requirements
  • A current Police Record Check is required. Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders is also necessary.
Employment Details
  • Employment Type: Permanent full-time and part-time
  • Hours: Rotating roster shifts, up to 80 hours per fortnight
  • Location: Mercy Health facility
