Job Overview

The APAC Stores FP&A team at Amazon is seeking a Senior Financial Planning Analyst to join our consumer business in Australia. This role will lead the overall FP&A function for the Singapore Stores, playing a critical role in the business decision-making process through driving key operating mechanisms and delivering relevant insights and analysis objectively.

Main Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Driving weekly, monthly, and quarterly mechanisms to support delivery of business goals
  2. Leading planning and reporting cycles with leadership teams
  3. Delivering insights and analysis objectively to support decision-making processes, using relevant data and benchmarks
  4. Gating for integrity and accuracy of Amazon's data across various financial databases
  5. Identifying and driving opportunities to improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance or business tools and processes

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required. 4+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience are also necessary. Experience in financial modeling, P&L management, or analysis is preferred. Strong attention to detail, ownership of work to deliver results, and strong interpersonal skills including written and oral communication skills are essential.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) is highly desirable. Applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses, delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results are also valuable.
