Heavy Diesel Mechanic Role

The primary function of this position is to oversee the maintenance and servicing requirements for mobile asphalt plant equipment and heavy vehicle fleet.

This will involve working independently and collaborating with operational teams to prioritize tasks, ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards, and maintaining equipment according to company requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To work independently and in consultation with operational teams on task prioritization.
  • To ensure that all mobile asphalt equipment and heavy vehicles comply with the necessary safety standards.
  • To maintain equipment as per company requirements for operational purposes.
  • To perform a combination of workshop and field-based tasks and be available for nighttime standby as required.
  • To ensure that all relevant permits and safety paperwork are in place before commencing tasks.
  • To supervise contractors and labour onsite.
  • To monitor plant equipment for defects using our maintenance system.
  • To undertake equipment assessments and reviews, developing improvement plans.

Key Requirements:

  • A trade-qualified Plant Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Mechanic.
  • An HR License would be an advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on safety.
  • The ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
