Science Education Leader Opportunity

Become part of a comprehensive, co-educational secondary school located in the eastern suburbs of Lake Macquarie.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Science educator to lead our Science faculty and contribute to the success of our students. As a key member of the school executive team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to improve student outcomes in Science education.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a clear vision for Science education at Belmont High School, aligned with whole-school priorities and goals.
  2. Lead and manage a high-performing Science faculty, ensuring excellence in teaching and learning practices.
  3. Collaborate with teachers to design and deliver engaging and inclusive Science curricula that cater to diverse learner needs.
  4. Mentor and support teachers to improve their teaching skills and increase student engagement and motivation.
  5. Contribute to the development of assessment and evaluation strategies to measure student progress and achievement.
  6. Build strong relationships with parents, staff, and students to promote a positive and supportive school culture.
  7. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in Science education.
Selection Criteria
  1. Demonstrated expertise in Science education, with a proven track record of improving student outcomes.
  2. Excellent leadership and management skills, with experience in leading teams and driving change.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with stakeholders.
  4. Ability to analyze data and develop evidence-based solutions to improve student learning.
  5. Passion for teaching and learning, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
