About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Casual Deckhand to join our team.

  • Provide top-notch customer service and support the safe operation, maintenance, and upkeep of the vessel.
  • Collaborate closely with all crew members, performing key duties such as:
    • Delivering outstanding customer service
    • Assisting with daily vessel operations
    • Identifying and reporting safety concerns to Master/Operations, assisting with implementation to prevent incidents
    • Participating in emergency response plans
    • Responsible for general maintenance and overall cleanliness of the vessel
    • Conducting deck patrols during shifts and ensuring the vessel is protected from damage while in its berth
    • Understanding and meeting requirements detailed in the vessel's Safety Management System, actively participating in emergency response procedures
    • Managing ticket sales and checks for compliance
  • Be well-presented and possess a polite and professional approach.

About You

  • You will provide excellent customer service by having strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You must understand and commit to adhering to all Work Health and Safety (WH&S) requirements.
  • You will demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
  • You should work harmoniously within and across teams.
  • You are available to work weekends and public holidays and at other locations if required.

Requirements

  • Elements of shipboard safety (ESS) and/or General Purpose Hand (GPH) - Essential.
  • Coxswains Grade 3 - Preferred.
  • Senior First Aid Qualification and CPR - Essential.
  • You will have highly developed interpersonal and solution-focused skills to provide excellent customer service.
  • You should have strong verbal communication skills.
  • You should have experience working professionally in a small team.
  • You should have experience in the maritime transport industry.
