Job SummaryWe are seeking an Intake Worker to join our team at Berry Street. As an Intake Worker, you will be responsible for providing support and referrals to specialist services in areas such as counselling, accommodation, employment, and education. You will work closely with young people, their families, and support networks to identify their needs and develop a plan to support their transition to independence.
Key Responsibilities- Provide support and referrals to specialist services in areas such as counselling, accommodation, employment, and education.
- Work closely with young people, their families, and support networks to identify their needs and develop a plan to support their transition to independence.
- Collaborate with other agencies and services to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting young people.
- Provide information and support to young people about their rights and entitlements, including access to housing, education, and employment opportunities.
- Tertiary qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, or a related field.
- Experience working with young people who have experienced out-of-home care.
- Knowledge of housing systems, including private rental, social housing, and homelessness.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other agencies and services to support young people.
