Principal Piping Designer Opportunity

Wood is seeking a highly skilled Principal Piping Designer to join our team in Darwin, Northern Territory, as part of our Operations APAC West business.

We deliver brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation, and technical services to the oil and gas sector, with long-term partnerships with prominent producers in Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

This role will be based in our Darwin office, reporting directly to the Piping Design Manager, and working as part of our core design team. As the focal point Piping Designer on brownfields oil & gas projects, you will be responsible for the design and will work closely with the Piping Lead.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive design teams to deliver high-quality design deliverables
  • Perform the full range of discipline design and analysis
  • Work independently with good initiative and interpersonal skills
  • Check piping deliverables
  • Guide and train junior level designers
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualified in Engineering/Drafting
  • Minimum of 15 years piping design experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Minimum 5 years in Principal Design role managing project scopes and resources
  • Understanding of discipline technology and other discipline requirements
  • Ability to problem solve effectively
  • Competency in E3D CAD systems

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior or Principal Piping Designer to join our team and contribute to the success of our operations in Darwin.
