About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Boilermaker to join our team at the Sydney Steel Mill in Rooty Hill. This is a permanent and stable position on day shift, with opportunities for overtime and shutdown work.

As a Boilermaker, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability and reliability of production machinery by identifying opportunities for improvement, performing fabrication and inspection tasks, and executing planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform fabrication and welding tasks to meet quality and safety standards
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on production machinery
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity
  • Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to ensure smooth operation of the mill
  • Participate in regular shutdowns and attend to breakdowns as needed
Requirements
  • Trade qualification in Boilermaking or Fabrication
  • High Risk License for confined spaces and working at heights
  • Forklift and Mobile Crane license and experience highly desirable
  • Preventative maintenance, breakdown, and shutdown experience desirable
  • Proven ability to fabricate and weld to test standards
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Computer literate and SAP experience advantageous
