Job Title: GCP Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking an accomplished technologist to join our Google Cloud team as a GCP Infrastructure Engineer. This is a permanent position located in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane, with a hybrid work model to promote a healthy work-life balance.

About the Role

As a GCP Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building cloud-based infrastructures and landing zones for our clients. You will work closely with customers to create infrastructure architectures and technical documentation, and design and implement secure cloud foundational cloud implementations, automated provisioning of infrastructure and applications, and cloud-ready applications architecture.

You will also be responsible for delivering end-to-end cloud-based infrastructure management solutions, presenting infrastructure modernization strategy to C-level executives, and improving monitoring, logging, and observability in client environments.

Responsibilities
  • Design and build cloud-based infrastructures and landing zones
  • Create infrastructure architectures and technical documentation
  • Design and implement secure cloud foundational cloud implementations
  • Automated provisioning of infrastructure and applications
  • Cloud-ready applications architecture
  • Deliver end-to-end cloud-based infrastructure management solutions
  • Present infrastructure modernization strategy to C-level executives
  • Improve monitoring, logging, and observability in client environments
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Hands-on Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development
  • Experience with virtualization: servers, storage, networks
  • Google Cloud Platform certification, along with a minimum of 2 years of practical experience using its suite of tools
  • Experience with infrastructure-based processes such as monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and data centre exit
  • Experience with Google's Cloud Foundation Toolkit and Landing Zone implementations
