Supporting Individuals with Complex Behaviour

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced support worker to provide person-centred care for individuals with complex behaviour. Our participants require support workers who can promote independent living skills, develop positive behaviour support strategies, and maintain accurate documentation of support activities.

The successful candidate will work across 24/7 roster and be available for sleepover shifts. This role involves meal preparation, domestic duties, and medication administration. The ability to communicate effectively with team members, family members, allied health services, and other support services is essential.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Promote and develop independent living skills
  • Provide person-centred support to our participants
  • Have a clear understanding of positive behaviour support and active support
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of support activities
  • Meal preparation, domestic duties, and medication administration
  • Be reliable and flexible to fill shifts when required
  • Incident reporting and Sleep Logs recording is a must
  • Mandatory Requirements
    • Must be experienced in managing complex challenging behaviour and high intensity support
    • Must have experience in implementing positive behaviour support (PBS)
    • Experience in mental health support is highly regarded
    • Native English Speaker is required due to participant communication barrier
    • Experience with Incident reporting and Sleep Logs recording is a must
  • Requirements
    • Hold a current CPR and first aid certificate
    • NDIS workers screening or yellow card and blue Card
    • Certificate III in disability or related fields (or willingness to obtain)
    • Have evidence of eligibility and right to work in Australia
    • Valid Police Clearance Certificate
    • Have experience in supporting individuals with complex behaviour
