Hazard Management Specialist

This role is responsible for providing hazard identification and risk management services to foster a positive safety culture within an organization.

  • We are seeking a skilled professional to support the implementation of our Health, Safety and Environment Plan by planning and delivering key HSE activities and initiatives.
  • The successful candidate will build strong relationships with site work groups, understanding their unique HSE needs, and provide recommendations to guide management decisions.

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the development and review of policies, procedures and systems to address challenging HSE issues.
  • Providing hands-on HSE support to operational staff and coaching and educating staff on best practice.
  • Liaising with stakeholders to design, deliver and implement effective communication strategies to ensure consistent messaging across the organization.

This Hazard Management Specialist will also contribute to HSE projects, positively challenging the status quo to drive continual HSE improvement across the organization.

Requirements:
  • A relevant trade certificate or equivalent relevant work experience in Health, Safety & Environment, Risk Management or related fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with HSE staff and key stakeholders to foster a positive safety culture.
  • Proven experience in interpreting legislation and regulatory standards to proactively identify potential issues and respond appropriately.
