Greenpeace is seeking two new directors to lead its Australian Pacific operations. The Board of Directors plays a vital role in upholding the organization's values, mission, and purpose.
The key responsibilities of the Board include:
- Maintaining the organization's mission as relevant to changing times;
- Providing strategic guidance for the direction of the organization;
- Monitoring the organization's programs and activities to ensure alignment with its mission and achievement of short-term goals and long-term objectives;
- Evaluating executive performance by setting objectives and regularly reviewing their progress;
- Ensuring the organization has the necessary resources to carry out its mission and sustain it;
- Verifying the adequacy and integrity of financial and other reporting to the Board and ensuring there are effective systems of internal control;
- Confirming that risk management systems are robust and appropriate;
- Complying with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) Governance Standards.
DIRECTORS MUST ACT IN GOOD FAITH, AVOID CONFLICTS OF INTEREST, AND EXERCISE DUE CARE, DILIGENCE, AND SKILL.
