We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HSE Advisor to join our team at The Hut Group. As a key member of our Central Functions team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement site-specific HSE strategies, programs, and plans to promote a safe working environment.
- Monitor and challenge standards to promote continual improvement, and support environmental management matters such as environmental impact assessments and compliance with environmental legislation.
- Perform regular Health, Safety, and Environment audits and inspections, and relay findings to the HSE Central Management and local management teams.
- Implement immediate corrective actions and oversee further preventative and corrective actions to eliminate root causes.
- Advise and support colleagues on their statutory duties within their areas of responsibility.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the company HSE Management system.
- Involvement in contractor vetting and other contractor management processes, including the review of risk assessments/method statements and the issuing of permits to work.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HSE policies and procedures.
- Assist with accident/incident investigation, root cause analysis, and reporting for corrective actions.
- Conduct and review on-chemical assessments, and assist in the fire risk assessment process.
- Recognised Health & Safety qualification at Diploma level or equivalent as a minimum.
- At least 3 years experience in occupational safety and health support and management.
- Good communication skills and the ability to influence change.
- Good working knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental Regulations.
- Previous experience of warehousing or manufacturing.
- Keen problem solver.
- Adaptable.
