About the Position

We specialize in the technical manufacture and assembly of steel components for the industrial and government sectors. As a member of our estimating team, you will be responsible for the following:

* Understanding the scope of works from engineering drawings
* Conducting site measurements as required by the project
* Obtaining material quotations from suppliers
* Accurately estimating other materials and labor components
* Liaising with clients for clarifications
* Preparing take-offs and formal quotations for clients
* Demonstrating expertise with numbers, calculations, dimensions, and take-offs using Bluebeam software or other
* Working effectively in a team environment

About You

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a steel estimator in a project-based environment. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess:

* An engineering background, preferably in Civil or Mechanical
* Experience in steel fabrication and structural steel environments
* Experience in platework, lobster backs, and rolled steel fabrication in mining applications
* The ability to allocate labor hours for workshop, site, etc.
* Proficiency with Microsoft suite
* Excellent time management skills, with the ability to plan and prioritize work to achieve deadlines and objectives
